A netizen and his pals earned the ire of netizens after their explicit conversation on Facebook went viral. The screenshots of their vile comments were shared by the Facebook page “Sachzna” along with a lengthy message to these men who were making lewd remarks about a woman.
One of the photos showed the netizen’s selfie with a girl whose face and name were censored for her privacy. The post’s caption read, “selfie muna bago mang hipo.”
What followed was a series of offensive comments from his friends in the comments field.
It was condemned by a feminist Facebook page called “End R A P E Culture PH” and they wrote:
“Nakakadiri. The post has been taken down but we need to make sure this disgusting behavior ends. Men are not savages. Men are not born rapists nor sexual predators. This is not something you can force us to expect men to behave like.”
The page also encouraged others to speak up and call out indecent people, saying that such acts shouldn’t be tolerated. It added that the behavior shouldn’t be considered as a joke.
“To all those claiming na joke lang ito, you’re having fun at the expense of someone else’s safety. You’re making it normal to talk about sexually molesting a person to a point where it becomes entertainment for you. Aren’t you tired of men being considered as potential rapists or as sexual offenders waiting to attack? Are you happy to admit that you are incapable of decency?”
