There have been many viral hits that have been released the past few years, but nothing made a mark quite like the song “Pen-Pineapple-Apple-Pen.” It’s release came out of nowhere and while the song’s meaning confuses us to this day, comedian Piko Taro and his legendary leopard scarf will forever be remembered.
But what surprised us most about this bizarre funny man was his marriage to the beautiful gravure model Hitomi Yasueda. For those who may not be familiar with the term, gravure idols are mostly Japanese models who highlight and showcase their physical attractiveness compared to the usual.
It was in August of 2017 when Piko Taro announced that he has tied the knot with his 30-year-old model girlfriend. The couple has an age gap that spans 15 years but it looks like they truly love each other. During the wedding announcement, Piko was also believed to have released an official statement about the wedding under the alias Kosaka Daimauo.
He made a promise to his wife that he would continue to not only work on providing for her but also to make their marriage a happy one.
You could also see adorable pictures of the two in the model’s blog in which they cosplayed as “PPAP” characters. Some netizens might think that Hitomi is just leeching off the success of Piko’s career but you would be surprised to find out that they have been together for a long time. The two met through work and it was reported that Piko and Hitomi started dating back in 2013.
Piko even gushed about his wife and said:
“I was attracted to the kindness, earnestness, sadness, and strength of spirit that she showed when we talked, chatted, and had conversations.”
