Tattoos have been the contemporary way to artistically express one’s personality. The stigma associated with tattoos are slowly fading away and many people are choosing to get a bit of body art for themselves. Aside from self-expression, people get themselves inked to immortalize their good memories. For Nadine Lustre, her tattoos serve as a personal reminder.
In a previous interview with “Tonight with Boy Abunda” the “Never Not Love You” leading lady was inquired if she truly had tattoos done on her body. The actress did not have any qualms about telling the story behind the two tattoos on her wrists.
She started by explaining what the first tattoo meant. The Kapamilya star explained that roses were her favorite and the rose tattoo on her wrist is an expression of self-love.
She further explained:
“When I look at it, it’s a reminder na, ‘Okay Nadine don’t forget ha, don’t forget to be good to yourself and to love yourself.’ So it’s for self-love.”
If the rose tattoo reminds the 24-year-old actress to be kinder to herself, her moon tattoo was inspired by the hit song of Coldplay titled “Everglow.”
“Medyo faded na siya, Tito Boy. I got it from Coldplay’s ‘Everglow’. Because there’s a line there that says, ‘And now you might be gone. Still I see you celestial,’ parang ganun.”
Nadine Lustre further explained that the moon was a celestial body and that ties in to the song lyrics.
“…the vibe that you get from the song is all those people na wala na, parang they still give you that Everglow, they still make you smile, they still make you happy kahit wala na sila. So that’s what it means.”
