Netizens react to a mother’s touching open letter to her daughter

This open letter is for daughters everywhere.

By the time some of us heed the saying “Mothers know best,” it’s usually too little too late. We have already done the very thing they asked us not to do, and are paying the consequences for it.

This netizen, however, religiously lives by her mother’s teachings. Hyacinth Czarina Rivera inspires us to do the same. After all, it shouldn’t hurt to listen to someone who only wants what’s best for us, right?

It wasn’t clear whether Hyacinth’s viral “open letter” was hers originally or grabbed from the Facebook community page “Meron Akong Kwento.” The open letter first appeared on the community page.

Nevertheless, it was Hyacinth’s post that resonated with many netizens from different walks of life.

In a nutshell, the open letter discussed everything a mother wishes for her beloved daughter. Here are some of the most memorable lines from the quite lengthy open letter:

The rest of the open letter discussed how this mother just doesn’t want her daughter to make the same mistakes she did, and thus suffer the same way she did.

It is a really touching letter. While the gender politics in the open letter could be taken as anti-feminist or backward, it’s still a pretty good reminder of how much a mother cares for her child.
